exbody is being used in hospitals and clinics
Nationwide
Here are some examples of institutions that have implemented the exbody comprehensive
comprehensive musculoskeletal examination system.
F. A. Q
The exbody system provides a variety of comprehensive musculoskeletal tests, consisting of four key modules. The main examination categories include Musculoskeletal Functional Movement Test
(exbody 9100), Real-Time Gait Analysis (exbody 6100), Dynamic/Static Plantar Pressure Test (exbody GA), Foot Deformity and Arch Correction Solution (exbody AF). These tests precisely diagnose problem areas in the entire musculoskeletal system, allowing for personalized treatment and care based on objective data.
The test results from the exbody system are used to assess the patient's musculoskeletal condition in real time and compare changes before and after treatment. Using 3D simulations, it visually demonstrates musculoskeletal imbalances and muscle conditions, enabling the prescription of customized exercises tailored to the patient.
The exbody system provides highly reliable, objective muscle and skeletal data, which is actively used for visual communication with patients and establishing treatment directions. Additionally, it can be utilized to verify treatment effectiveness through before-and-after comparisons. Many hospitals and clinics are using the exbody system as supporting evidence when submitting insurance claims for manual therapy, as introduced in the 2022 Orthopedic Sports Medicine Association lecture. This system is widely used to resolve disputes between hospitals, patients, and insurance companies over reimbursement claims.
The exbody system has been certified for the average accuracy of its automatic joint recognition technology by the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR), with an average accuracy of 97% across different body parts. As a result, it is used in over 1,000 hospitals and clinics, including comprehensive and university hospitals, as well as in national healthcare institutions like public health centers and major corporate health management offices.
Additionally, more than 30 research papers have been published utilizing the exbody system, further validating its reliability. Today, it is recognized as a highly trustworthy testing device, used in over 3,000 locations both domestically and in 10 countries worldwide.
The exbody system supports various modular configurations depending on the size of the hospital or clinic and the direction of care.
Out of the four available devices, you can configure the modules based on your specific needs. Below are the typical module configurations and the required installation space:
Among the four modules of the exbody system, three are eligible for insurance coverage under statutory [approved] non-covered codes. The applicable codes for each module are as follows:
- exbody9100 : EX773 Joint Range of Motion Test
Statutory [Approved] Non-Covered: EZ774 Biomechanical Motion Analysis Test - exbody6100: Statutory [Approved] Non-Covered: EZ774 Biomechanical Motion Analysis Test
- exbodyGA : Statutory [Approved] Non-Covered: EZ777 Dynamic Plantar Pressure Measurement
These codes enable stable non-covered revenue generation, and patients can also claim reimbursement for non-covered services under statutory [approved] non-covered codes without limitations on frequency or duration.
* For detailed non-covered pricing information, please consult with your assigned consultant.
With the automatic joint recognition system, there is no need for manual markers (sensor stickers), and the test takes about 1 to 3 minutes on average. As for attire, you don’t need to wear a hospital gown or tight-fitting clothing, as long as you follow the guidelines below. Casual attire like a t-shirt and jeans is generally acceptable.
- Put the tops into the pants
- Roll up pants to expose the knees.
- Remove shoes
- Avoid clothing that excessively covers joint areas, such as dresses, long skirts, hoodies, or oversized shirts
- For Moiré testing, tight-fitting clothing is required
According to data released by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA), the number of patients and treatment costs related to various musculoskeletal disorders, which affect people of all ages, have been steadily increasing. Over the past 10 years, the number of patients has grown by 5 million, accounting for more than 10% of total medical expenses (as of 2020). In particular, the demand for the exbody system has been rising as it is increasingly recognized as a mandatory test for claiming manual therapy under stricter insurance reimbursement conditions. This has driven even more patients to seek these examinations
exbody provides comprehensive support to ensure smooth system usage in clinics, covering everything from the installation process to user training and maintenance. Remote support and on-site training are available as needed to assist in the efficient operation of the system.
The exbody system provides precise analysis of the patient’s musculoskeletal condition and maximizes treatment effectiveness through personalized exercise prescriptions. Additionally, the system enables real-time monitoring of progress, enhancing patient satisfaction and encouraging higher rates of return visits.
